lightsocket collects data when you use it. this data is exclusively used for account security and is never shared with anyone.
what data is collected
lightsocket collects the following data:
- your purchase email
- if you lose your license key, this is used for account recovery.
- your ip
- when you login to the program, your connection ip is stored. this is used to prevent account sharing.
- hashed hwid
- a hardware id is created from your computer's specs. it is securely hashed on your local machine before being sent to the server. no personally identifiable information is stored.
- connection logging
- a log of connections from all keys is stored.
data security
user data is stored on a secure server with trusted hosting. the database is encrypted with a strong key. any sensitive info is hashed before being stored.
data sharing
user data isn't shown to anyone for cash. your info will be kept private.
complying with legal requests
i am required by law to comply with legal requests for data. before handing stored info over, i will thoroughly verify that the request is legitimate to protect you from fake subpoena. if i recieve a request for your data, you will be notified by all contact methods available and we will discuss the situation.
data deletion
you are fully entitled to delete your data from my servers. please contact support to request this. i will verify your identity before proceeding. all parts of your account can be deleted, including but not limited to your license key, email, hwids, ips, and login history. note that if you remove your license key, you will lose access to the program and will need to purchase it again.
